What I’m Wearing
Where I Shop
Here’s a fall outfit idea. I found this great sweater at Free People, but it’s pricey so I wanted to find a few similar alternatives at Amazon that would be less expensive options. I thought I found some pretty good matches, but when they arrived, they weren’t what I expected. Here are the details.
Chunky, large knit sweaters are popular this year, especially in this shorter, boxier shape. The higher waistline looks really great with high rise pants and this one is a nice soft knit that has some weight to it. I sized down to an extra small. I always wear xs in tops and sweaters from Free People because they run pretty big.
I thought this was going to be somewhat comparable. On the amazon listing, it looks a little longer than the Free People sweater, but similar. I was disappointing though when it arrived. The knit is actually pretty nice and has a good weight to it, but it’s huge. I ordered a small which is the smallest size offered. Also, there no tag in it at all. If you wear a larger size than me, it may be a good option and it’s free shipping and free returns (with prime).
The sizing on this one is better, but the arms are bigger and floppier than I anticipated. Kind of cute though. The fabric isn’t the greatest knit. It’s a little thin. I ordered small in this one too. Free shipping and free returns with Amazon Prime.
Here are the three sweaters I tried on (the first 3 in the widget). See how similar the Amazon sweater looks to the Free People sweater? I also found some other (I think better) alternatives to the Amazon sweaters if you’re want the look of the Free People sweater, but less pricey.
The jeans I’m wearing are Mom Jeans from American Eagle. Lauren wears them all the time, but I’d never thought to try AE jeans for myself. I had a reward so basically got them for free and I absolutely love them. They fit TTS (wearing size 6) and are really comfortable. I expected them to be too straight in the hips for me, but they’re not. They fit really nicely.
I absolutely adore these boots. I was wearing them without socks or anything for the shoot because I’m lazy and they were really comfortable. They’re also waterproof and have great treads on the sole for winter weather. Fit TTS. I’m wearing size 7. Also come in black.
How cute are these? I absolutely LOVE these and they’re slip on, which… let’s face it, makes them much more likely to be worn. Am I the only one who’s too lazy to tie laces? They fit TTs and are really soft. They come in 3 different types of plaid.
So what do you guys think of the shorter chunkier sweaters?
Who doesn’t love a great fair isle sweater in the winter… and they make…
I found two really cute faux suede tops and I think it’s a…
